About the audio - AI, translation and human creativity

How we use AI in this project

The stories and audio you hear in this tour were created with the help of artificial intelligence — but AI is a tool here, not the author.

Real people researched the history, shaped the narratives, and made the creative choices that bring these places to life. AI helps us work faster and reach more people: it assists with generating voiceovers through text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis, and with translating stories into additional languages so that visitors from different backgrounds can experience the same place in their own words.

Every script is written, reviewed, and refined by humans. Every translation is checked for tone and accuracy. AI handles the repetitive and technical work so that the people behind this project can focus on what matters most — telling stories worth listening to.

A note on translations

Translating a story is not just translating words. Idiom, rhythm, and feeling all need to carry across. We do our best to ensure that translated versions are faithful not only in meaning but in spirit, and we try to review AI-generated translations before they are published.

That said, we know we won't always get it right the first time.

Something not quite right?

If you notice something in the audio, text, or a translation that doesn't feel accurate — historically, linguistically, or culturally — we'd genuinely like to hear from you.

Please tell us using the form below and we'll look into it.
